Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Dometic PerfectPower battery charger. Now, this is designed for your 12-volt vehicle systems with standard or smart alternators, and this is going to support the battery types that you see there on your screen, AGM, gel, and lead acid. So this DC to DC battery charger is going to let you take advantage of the extra energy that's generated by your alternator to charge a battery bank in your RV or overlanding vehicle. We do recommend this one for vehicles with alternators generating 10 amps of excess power. This is going to prevent sulfation in your battery, extending service life, and this is gonna work great with smart alternators and Euro 6 emission standard vehicles.
The multi-phase charging profiles prevent hazardous overcharging and this does not drain your vehicle's battery when the engine is not running. As you probably already saw, we have these dip switches here that can be configured for using lead, gel, AGM, or even lithium batteries. And just to give you some measurements here, looking at the overall, I'm gonna call that length, we're sitting right at 7 and 1/16 inches. The overall width about six inches, and the overall height almost three inches. I'm gonna call it about 2 and 7/8 inches.

I installed the unit to charge an auxilliary battery in a 1940 Cadillac Lasalle. After making sure all the leads were secure, I tested the charge at each battery. The primary battery was receiving a charge of 13.6 volts from the alternator, whike the secondary battery registered. 13.2. The unit seems to function as advertised
